• Lianne Bassin - Kids Yoga, Music and the Arts

We are very happy to introduce and welcome one of our newest Little Flower Yoga writers.  Lianne is an incredible person and will be contributing a column based on kids yoga and mindfulness as well as music and the arts!  Look for her writings and more on the Little Flower Yoga Webiste and Blog.

    A Little About Lianne

Growing up in a family of musicians, artists and educators, Lianne has always been encouraged to explore and express her creativity in many different ways.  Through the past eight years as an educator, she has tried to also cultivate this mindset within the hearts of her students on a daily basis.  Being motivated to learn more about mindfulness and yoga, Lianne completed Levels One and Two of the Children’s Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher Training at Little Flower Yoga. It was during these trainings that Lianne became inspired to teach children the practice of mindfulness through her music.

In February 2014, Lianne was awarded a grant from her school to record a children’s album entitled, Breathe In: Children’s Songs for Mindfulness and Awareness. Over the summer, she had her first experience in a professional recording studio and recorded twenty-one children’s songs. The album will be released in Spring 2015.

She hopes that you are inspired to internalize the messages conveyed in her music and help pass them along to the next generation!  I can say on a personal note that her CD and songs have become a staple in our home and our car!

Lianne holds a holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Studio Art and Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. She currently teaches Pre-K, Songwriting, and Yoga/Mindfulness to children ages 4 – 9 in Manhattan, NY.

If you are interested in learning more about Lianne’s music, visit Lianne's Website, and please feel free to email her at info@liannebassin.com.  We also highly recommend subscribing to her mailing list here.

Lianne's first contribution to the Little Flower Yoga Blog will be out the end of January so stay tuned for more!
